About Nacho Álvarez

He began his career in the Jorge Ordóñez Group as head of Bodegas Avancia in Valdeorras, later he would become Oenological Director of Jorge Ordóñez wines in seven of the Designations of Origin in which he produces: Valdeorras, Rias Baixas, Toro, Calatayud, Malaga, Rueda and Montsant.

Revelation oenologist

His daily work and desire to promote the tradition of Spanish viticulture led him to be recognized by the American critic Robert Parker as the Revelation Winemaker of the year 2016. He also obtained the Best Godello recognition in Spain and the world in 2014. and 2015 (“Avancia”), described as such by the aforementioned critic.

Viticulturist, oenologist and sommelier

In addition to being a viticulturist and oenologist, Nacho is a sommelier, which allows him to take care of the most important aspects of his wines, from the vineyard, through production and up to the moment of tasting.

Pago de los Abuelos

He currently runs his own winery in his homeland, Puente de Domingo Flórez in El Bierzo, a unique project in this municipality, undoubtedly marked by its artisanal and completely natural strength.
Centennial vineyards certified as Viticulture Heroica , at altitudes of 700 meters and up to 51% gradient, with slate floors without quartzite that make the difference in their wines.
